WHSV Staff Spreads Christmas Cheer at Parade

HARRISONBURG, Va -- Nearly 6,000 people stood on the sidewalks from the Joshua Wilton House all the way to the end of North Main Street.

The Marching Royal Dukes, Harrisonburg Police Department and other community organizations filled the streets spreading Christmas cheer.

Members of WHSV staff walked past the crowd, gave candy to children and collected toys for Toy Convoy.

The parade was a great family event and for some, like Rachel West, it was a time to enjoy with friends.

"I just wanted to hang out with my friends. This is my first time here so, I thought it would be fun," said West.

Saturday is the last day WHSV and the Salvation Army will collect toys for the Toy Convoy. Meet your favorite WHSV personalities at Harrisonburg Honda from 12 to 6:30 p.m.

The Dayton Christmas Parade is Saturday at 4 p.m.
